EWRA Selects Cityzenith's Smart World Pro for East-Wail Rail Transit Development Project in U.K.
We are excited to share another success with you this week!
The East-West Rail Alliance of the UK has selected our flagship product, Smart World Pro, for their East-West Rail Transit Development Project. The East West Rail Alliance (EWRA) is responsible for the delivery of phase 2 of the East West Rail project – a major £1bn rail program and one of the most prestigious projects in the UK infrastructure pipeline. East West Rail Phase 2 will re-establish a rail link between Cambridge and Oxford to improve connections between East Anglia and central, southern and western England.
The EWRA is a ‘pure’ Alliance consisting of Atkins SNC Lavalin, Laing O’Rourke, Network Rail and Volker Rail. The joint collaboration will feature one of the largest-ever deployments of a Digital Twin on a transit infrastructure project for the 103 km Oxford-Cambridge high speed rail line. Smart World Pro is currently being used to coordinate delivery of the Bicester to Bedford section:
The railway will open its first section in 2023, and is envisioned to provide travelers faster and cheaper journeys and improved access to housing, while boosting local economies along the line.
From our CEO, Michael Jansen: “We are immensely proud of our partnership with the East West Rail Alliance, and in particular the ground-breaking work that we are doing together on high-profile the East-West Rail project. We are integrating multiple complex BIM formats from tools that have never spoken to each other before, in addition to a vast array of project and other contextual data systems including 3D jpegs, video, LIDAR point clouds, Bentley Architectural models, Revit models (other 3D tools), and so on. SWP’s ability to integrate with complex AEC, GIS, and CRE systems and tools, and leverage advanced features that combine, query, analyze, and visualize new information streams makes us the best at what we do, and we are excited to work with Atkins on this significant undertaking of such importance to the firm, and EWR, and the nation. There will be nothing like it out there, and it will revolutionize how the industry takes on large scale projects of this kind.”
