Ambry Genetics Corp. Hit with Class Action Over Jan. 2020 Data Breach Affecting 230,000 patients.
Hello dear Investors and Friends, I wanted to share this news to raise awareness of one of the main problems #Centralized DNA databases currently have and Genobank.io can help fix.
The case argues that the data breach was a “direct result” of Ambry’s failure to implement “adequate and reasonable” cybersecurity protocols. Due to its position in the healthcare industry and the sensitive nature of the private medical information collected from patients, Ambry was aware of its legal obligation to protect such data.
Soon, the alternative by using Genobank.io's patent-pending #decentralized architecture, would be to generate 230,000 individual DNA data vaults, with a unique encryption key that is owned and controlled by each patient (using a DNA data Wallet)...our architecture clearly disincentivizes a cybersecurity attack, with it, any potential attacker would have to invest 230,000 times more resources to steal each patient´s data.
Hacking, although ilegal, is planned as a regular business, has to be profitable; decentralized networks are the least of their priorities.
This is only one company, out of thousands...All of them are honey pots for hackers waiting to be attacked. The big problem, you cannot change your DNA information like your credit card or mobile phone number if hacked.
We need to decentralize Genomics in order to be secure and ethical for All of Us.
Thank you all for supporting Genobank.io.
