Two-thirds of U.S. students are not reading at their grade level
There are a number of problems that children in America are facing, including lack of access to culturally relevant educational programming and safe social media. While a majority of kids in the U.S. can't read at their grade level, they can repeat their favorite rap artist's songs word for word. Our team has experienced firsthand how influential hip-hop music and culture is on the youth and how a lot of the messaging is unhealthy for their young developing minds. While hip hop and social media can be excellent resources for communities, most of the existing platforms are not built with children in mind.
Healthy Hip Hop: Encouraging learning through music, movement and mindfulness
Healthy Hip Hop is on a mission to empower today’s young minds in making positive changes to their everyday lives. Our platform uses hip-hop culture, literacy, and social interaction to improve learning environments and create a safe social media experience for kids. We partner with parents and schools to bring a comprehensive childhood development program that emphasizes social emotional learning, mental & physical wellness, and academic success.
Online and mobile platform that combines hip hop with educational content
The Healthy Hip Hop app can be found on iOS and Android, and we also offer a full desktop platform for educators and schools. Our programs empower parents and educators with the engaging resources they need to lead today’s kids into a brighter and healthier future.
Kids can make their own dance challenges, rap over the hottest beats, and share what they create in their safe circle of family and friends. We use culturally relevant music and cutting-edge technology to create enjoyable learning experiences that connect families, all while teaching essential skills to children.
