This morning I spoke with the incomparable Joanne Wilson, who I am lucky to have in my wheelhouse of experts. Last fall on our media tour in NYC, I had the pleasure of sitting down with her to talk business on her fabulous Gotham Gal Podcast (check out our Episode #38!). Joanne is a brilliant angel investor and a guru for female founders, so of course I asked her for advice on how to amplify our Republic campaign. Her words of wisdom to me:
Replace the pitch page header video with new content that includes you and your products.
Nothing in this world “just happens”...assume that half of your goal amount (and we are really aiming for over a million) will need to be raised directly by you reaching out to friends, family and your direct network.
Ensure unaccredited investors in your network understand that this is the only way to invest in the industry at this time. This is TRULY a unique offering.

We will create and upload a video that showcases the products and is a platform for Jane to pitch our offering to every visitor to our Republic page. This will be up no later than Monday, March 12th.
I will immediately pick up my phone and get busy dialing 1000+ people in my network over the next 6 weeks. I'll ask them to invest $500 dollars each (and qualify for our fabulous perk, all four pieces in The Collection). If I am successful working the phones, this could bring in $500K.
We will continue to educate our network about crowdfunding, SAFE agreements and our one of kind opportunity. This will likely be the only time we will be able to offer a stake in our company to non-accredited investors—future raises will have funding goals higher than the $1.07M cap on annual crowdfunding raises allowed by the JOBS Act.
