How many Light Phones will need to be in operation for the company to be a going concern?

Also, since Light Phone apparently raised a fair sum in convertible debt from large investors, why choose to do an offering on Republic?

Thanks.

Peter Green @alan-goldberg Hi Alan! I'll let the Light team answer both questions, but concerning the the second question: there is no bad moment to do a raise on Republic ? it brings new customers, fans and exposure to the business in addition to funds.

Eileen Bayers @alan-goldberg Hi Alan, thanks for the question. If we operated in a manner where we left all else unchanged, we could be break even selling a few thousand phones per month. However, as we are in a time of expansion, all excess cash is going to R&D, software development and promoting the brand. We have no specific goal for profitability but believe we can expect sustainable profitability after the release of subsequent products.

Alan Goldberg @light-phone -- I understand there is a monthly fee. What I meant was: How many Light Phones would need to be in operation without additional sales for the company to be a going concern?

Eileen Bayers @alan-goldberg Hi Alan - sorry for the delay, it looks like I failed to post my reply yesterday. We don't envision Light as a service-only company, so this is not something we model.

Alan Goldberg @light-phone -- Do you plan to sell an infinite number of Light Phones, upgrading every year?

Eileen Bayers @alan-goldberg We're currently focused on selling the Light Phone and developing the next-generation phone. We plan to grow our phone sales and monthly fees with these products. It's possible they will evolve further. We will also continue to explore ideas for products that fit our mission.
