- What does this mean for the NextSeed Community?
The NextSeed Community will benefit from the expanded resources and networks that Republic has built, providing more diverse investment options and an improved level of service to both investors and businesses.
- Will NextSeed maintain its mission to “build prosperous communities” locally and nationally?
Republic shares the NextSeed founders’ mission to help build a financial system that will truly democratize finance and create more opportunities for everyone. One of the reasons that Republic added NextSeed to its family is to continue expanding its breadth of offerings and services, including NextSeed’s focus on local investments and community-building Main Street small businesses.
- What does this mean for my existing NextSeed investments?
For NextSeed investors that have active investments, your portfolio will not be changed. Investments will still be serviced under Republic Investment Services LLC (f/k/a/ NextSeed Services LLC), and payments will continue to be distributed through your NextSeed platform investment account.
- Will NextSeed continue to offer new investment opportunities?
NextSeed’s platform will no longer list new offerings but is fully committed and capable of continuing servicing of existing NextSeed investments. You will now see the types of investment offerings previously available on NextSeed at Republic Local.
- Why do I need to have two separate accounts for both NextSeed and Republic?
The NextSeed and Republic platforms were originally built on two separate websites and technology stacks that are unable to be quickly integrated. In addition, investment offerings on NextSeed and Republic websites are currently facilitated by different, independently owned and controlled, regulated entities that are subject to specific business and compliance requirements. As such, if you would like to invest in offerings hosted on the Republic website, you will need to set up a separate account with Republic.
- Will there eventually be one account that will work for both NextSeed and Republic?
Yes, we plan on rolling out a unified account solution in the future. We will let NextSeed investors know when this solution is ready.
- How can accredited investors gain access to Republic’s private investment offerings?
Similar to NextSeed, certain offerings on the Republic platform are only available to accredited investors due to legal requirements of certain investment structures. If you are interested in learning about investment opportunities available to Republic’s accredited investors, please create an account on Republic and complete your profile to be qualified as an accredited investor. Once your status is verified, you will receive an invitation to Republic’s Deal Room, an accredited-only platform.
- If I’m a business looking for funding, should I submit an application through Republic?
