Important Parlor Announcement
Hello friends of Parlor!
It's been quite some time since our last update, and many of you have asked for some news (any news). We've had something in the works for quite some time that we were dying to tell you about, but unfortunately we just had to be patient until the moment was right. Fortunately, that moment is here!
I'm thrilled to announce that Parlor has closed a ~$2.6M seed round of funding led by Bain Capital Ventures, with a group of west coast product leaders participating as angels. These angels include heads of product and engineering at Atlassian, Google, Uber, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Dropbox, just to name a few. With this funding, we're fueled for a big year of growth over the coming year, but more on that in a moment.
First, I'd like to express just how surreal of a moment this is for my co-founders and me. Two years ago, Jason, Jonah, Louise, and I decided to leave our jobs and pursue an idea we had been experimenting with for roughly 3 years. We each had families, mortgages, and a boatload of risk, but we all decided to commit to one another and give it a go. Since then, we've patiently toiled away on Parlor – holed away in our respective homes, working across 4 time zones, and paying ourselves practically nothing in the process. The emotional ups and downs have certainly expedited my graying hair, but today it all feels worth it. And we couldn't have done it without your investment in our dream almost a year and a half ago.
Parlor is now a full-time team of 12 (and growing) with an office in the heart of downtown Boston. We have a new website, our first non-founder executive hire, and a free version of Parlor on the way. We're innovating faster than ever, talking to more prospective customers than ever, and genuinely believe we're primed to transform the way digital product teams engage their users to build better products.
Soon, I'll be following up with our investors to discuss next steps of converting your SAFE agreements. Please sit tight, and I'll be in touch soon.
In the meantime, I do need your help: We're launching a free version of Parlor so companies of any stage can take advantage of the value we provide. We'd like to include some friends (or friends of friends) in the beta, so I would appreciate any introductions that you can make. Please feel free to introduce them over email to me directly (keith@parlor.io), or have them Request Beta Access on our site (Parlor.io).
And finally, we're starting a "Friends of Parlor" newsletter to keep you and other friends of Parlor in the loop more regularly. I'll add you to that, but can exclude you if you would prefer.
That's all for now! As always, thank you for your continued support.
Best,
Keith
