PittMoss Increases Medical Marijuana Yield 12%
For many who suffer from chronic conditions like cancer, Parkinson’s disease or intractable pain, medical marijuana provides symptom relief that no other treatment has or can. Until recently, residents of Pennsylvania in need of this treatment were forced to use less than desirable channels until finally in 2016, Pennsylvania passed Act 16. The program began to license grower/processor facilities in 2018, and later dispensaries followed suit.
Due to their compassion for patients and commitment to excellence, one grower/processor dedicates their business to cultivating an extremely high-quality product. They take great care to select the best strain of plant, mix just the right nutrients for growth, and measure progress carefully to yield the best end product. Data drives the business model.
This specific permittee performed a 90-plant trial using PittMoss as their growing medium and were extremely pleased with their results. They consider PittMoss a competitive advantage over the other permittees and would like to remain nameless for that reason.
Here's a summary of their results:
· 12% yield increase with bigger and healthier plants
· Better nutrient uptake and nutrient retention
· Decreased use of water
· Reduced fertilizer runoff
In addition to producing a better overall product for patients, these results translate into six figure reductions in nutrient costs. You can see why this company wants to keep this as their "secret sauce".
Brian Scott, CEO of PittMoss, had the following to say about the trial, "We are thrilled with the results but I also know we are just getting started because we provided a less effective version of our product for the trial to ensure that it worked well with their existing growing processes. We fully believe that the yields could increase as much as 20%, and the nutrient runoff and carbon emissions will decrease even more as we continue to work together."
In 2018, PittMoss received Redfield Proctor's pesticide-free certification for "Suitable for Cannabis Growth", a key achievement that few others have received. According to Redfield, Proctor CEO Stephen Martin said, “Pesticide and chemical contaminate presence in soil is a real concern in the cannabis industry, which has probably the harshest regulations regarding them of any crop in the world. Growers have a real reason to be concerned about their product ‘testing hot’ due to pesticide and chemical contaminate uptake from poorly screened soil.”
According to Grandview research, the legal marijuana market is expected to reach $73.6 BN by 2027 with an 18.1% CAGR, with medical marijuana holding a 71% share of the market.
In addition to these new trial results, PittMoss has been helping other legal marijuana cultivators too. We'll provide more information on that in another update.
In essence, if you take these medical marijuana trial results and the Redfield Proctor certification, and magnify them with an industry growing as quickly as the legal marijuana market, you shouldn't wait to invest in PittMoss, it's truly a triple bottom-line business.
