R3 Printing Joins The Ranks of Women-Led Tech Startups 👩💻
It's our pleasure to introduce Petra Wood, our newest board member and Head of Growth at R3 Printing! A worldly executive with a track history in digital marketing and the media industry, Petra is an important and exciting addition to the R3 Printing leadership team.
Petra has American roots but was born and raised in Lausanne, Switzerland. Her global background doesn't stop there - after spending a year abroad in Spain and Australia, Petra studied in Shanghai during her freshman year while pursuing her degree at New York University, from which she graduated with honors. 🎓
Her multilingual skill set includes French, Spanish, German, and Chinese (Mandarin) - which no doubt will prove to be valuable assets when R3 Printing expands to serve the $16 billion-dollar additive manufacturing industry on an international scale.
At R3 Printing, we're thrilled to have a skilled creative and operationally-minded professional like Petra join our team. Her drive has not only led her to success on multiple continents, but also multiple companies including tenures at Lincoln Square Productions - the nonfiction production company for Walt Disney ABC Television, and Amnet Group - the programmatic digital marketing subsidiary of Dentsu Aegis Network. We look forward to the many accomplishments to come in her new leadership role.
R3 Printing Supports Women in Tech
As many of you know, diversity and inclusion are part of Republic's core values in its mission to democratize startup financing. At R3 Printing, we share those values and believe them to be a key component of both the strength of our fundraising relationship with Republic as well as our ability to innovate.
The R3 Printing team now challenges the status quo on two fronts:
- In a Deloitte analysis of nearly 7,000 companies in 60 countries, women held only 15% of all board seats globally in 2017.
- In a 2018 report by the Society of Women Engineers, a study found that only 13% of engineers in the workforce were female. Our Design-for-Manufacture/Design-for-Assembly (DFM/DFA) lead is Sarah Pavis, a full-stack mechanical engineer with over 10 years of experience who has been instrumental in preparing R3 Printer for its first factory run.
At R3 Printing, we're proud to not only take on the challenge of being a hardware startup in a software-heavy VC funding landscape, but to dedicate ourselves to finding the absolute best talent for our team in order to bring you the custom 3D-printed future we deserve.
We've Extended Our Deadline! 🏁
In other exciting news, we've extended the deadline for our campaign! The deadline to invest in R3 Printing is now October 16, 2019 at 2:59 AM (EDT).
👉 A friendly reminder to all R3 Printing Early Investors that either invested for the first time or increased their investment between July 22 and August 17: you'll likely need to reconfirm your investment, as deadline extensions are considered a "material change" to Form C filings.
📝 Note: If reconfirmation is necessary, you would have received an email with the Subject, "Please read and reconfirm your investment in R3 Printing!" in addition to receiving prompts in your web browser when navigating on Republic. We'll do our best to confirm whether reconfirmations are necessary and/or went through successfully in the comments, but please note that clicking the link in the email or banner is the only accepted form of reconfirmation!
You can also email Republic directly for support as well.
As always, we value your questions and feedback as comments on this Campaign Update or in the Discussion section of our page. And it goes without saying, stay tuned for more to come!
