Greetings From Lima, Peru (and Santiago, Chile)
After nearly two glorious weeks in Chile and Peru, Salsa God is heading back stateside. I have spent all of last week in meetings with buyers, distributors and importers in Santiago, Chile and Lima, Peru.
Santiago, Chile
Monday of last week, I spent getting to learn more about Chile as a market. I attended a retail briefing hosted by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service and went on a retail tour of Santiago to get a first-hand view of the retail landscape for specialty food products in Chile. Mexican Food consumption is growing in Chile - I ate at two great Mexican restaurants - and Salsa God will be well poised to help the growth continue. Last Tuesday and Wednesday, Salsa God exhibited at the Espacio Food & Service Trade Show in the USDA Pavilion in Santiago - Chile's largest and most important food trade show. It was a fantastic show, and Salsa God generated significant interest among buyers and importers!
Lima, Peru
Lima is an amazing city of 10 million people, and it is a city filled with amazing restaurants. Peru has certainly earned its reputation as one of the best culinary spots on the planet. From amazing ceviche to one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life at La Lucha Sanguchería Criolla (https://lalucha.com.pe/), Lima will leave you feeling delighted and full! During my stay in Lima, I met with over 10 buyers, importers and distributors who were interested in bringing Salsa God to Peru. I had two very serious discussions with importers who are very, very eager to become the exclusive distributor of Salsa God in Peru, so we expect to add Peru as Salsa God's 4th market in Q4 2019 or Q1 2020! I can't wait to begin exporting to Peru so I will have an excuse to come visit Lima again and eat copious amounts of their amazing food (and visit Cusco again). (Machu Picchu!!!)
I'm looking forward to getting back to the U.S. Thank you everyone for your patience as I know my responses to your questions were not as prompt as normal.
Thank you to all of the wonderful people that I met in Santiago, Chile and Lima, Peru. It was a blast!
