Funding, new partnerships + our best month yet! 🚀
Identifying our work to dismantle systemic racism
A few weeks ago, we sent this message to our full audience. We noted that we’re making a commitment to the 15% pledge and included resources to educate and support Black-owned businesses. Since then, we’ve taken internal steps to begin an audit of our current brands partners in order to identify what’s needed to meet (and exceed) the 15% pledge. Our founding team is also working to set ongoing goals to ensure that wearwell is even more actively practicing anti-racist and inclusive values in our sourcing, hiring, and partnerships for the long-term. More to come on this in the next few weeks. Sign up for our mailing list to be the first to hear, but we’ll also be sure to share here.
Funding coming in the door! 💵
Wearwell has been awarded COVID-19 response and economic relief grants over the past few weeks that are enabling us to continue growing during this time. As a result of putting that money to work, wearwell is not just surviving, we’re thriving right now! In fact, May was one of our best months yet.
Our largest opportunity was extended to us from one of our pre-seed funders and, ICMYI from our last update, wearwell was selected as a grantee for the first round of the Red Backpack Fund’s grants for female entrepreneurs. The Red Backpack Fund is funded and led by Sara Blakely, creator of Spanx, the youngest-ever self-made female billionaire, and one of our team’s personal heroes.
New partnerships 🤝
We’ve shared recent exciting partnerships like the one with Nyssa in a recent update and we’ve recently launched another with Alice + Whittles. They make footwear for all seasons that’s sustainable and puts people at the center of production. We’re forging many new partnerships right now that enhance our offering to our customers and are revenue-focused. We will share more as they roll out!
Improvements to our platform: better membership join process 👯
We’ve recently rolled out some important changes to our website that make the process of joining wearwell membership much more seamless. These changes were identified through user testing and we’re anticipating higher membership conversion rates as a result.
