Hi Richard, thanks for your questions. While Clover claims a similar value proposition to Whim (an app that helps you meet up in real life), the reality is that the product's actual functionality is much more similar to existing apps like Blendr and Skout. Instead of orchestrating dates for matches, Clover still relies on messaging between the two parties, and it is limited by the same inefficiencies and inconveniences that are problematic on other chat-based apps.

Furthermore, Clover has little to no traction amongst well-educated young professionals. In a recent survey of 1,000 active Whim users, none of them mentioned using Clover when asked what other apps they are on. (Common answers included Tinder, Bumble, Coffee Meets Bagel, OkCupid, and The League). A quick perusal of potential matches on Clover yielded mostly low quality profiles. They're targeting a different demographic. The user experience is also clumsy.
