1950's: Flying was a most pleasant experience. Economy Class felt like First Class: sleeper seats were offered to all travelers, plenty of legroom, and delicious food - but fares were high and flying was not affordable for all travelers.
1970's: The "Golden Age of Flying”. Introduction of twin aisle, long range aircraft with more seating - but plenty of legroom. Pan Am Airlines became famous for offering the first onboard lounges with a bar where travelers in First Class could socialize inflight.
