Problem
There’s a huge disconnect between office perks and bathroom care
Today, companies are investing in culture more than ever. We see it in free perks like wellness programs, catered meals, and even entire game rooms. The fact is, companies that invest in perks have increased retention, attract top talent and create a happier, more productive work environment.
Unfortunately, bathroom care is a complete afterthought for most employers, and women are left with less than ideal situations. The bathroom plays an integral role for women, it's a safe place to refresh and recharge throughout the workday. On average, women make 3-4 bathroom visits every day or approximately 41 hours each year. With half the workforce being female, it’s time companies begin addressing their everyday essential needs.
Solution

Business model
Cost-effective subscription plan for every office budget
The Lieu is primarily a subscription-based service. Subscriptions are determined by employee headcount and can vary from office to office. Starter boxes are our baseline offering at $500 per bathroom/month, which services, on average, 50-100 women per month. The gross margin on starter boxes are 43% but increase to around 50% as serviceable headcount increases.
Other streams of revenue come from our brand partnerships. Office bathrooms are a new distribution channel for brands to have access to prime buyers. We’ll monetize brands through preferred product placement, premium advertising space on our displays, and digital ad space giving our partners direct access to a highly targeted audience. Through these partnerships, we’ll bring in approximately 10-15% on affiliate transactions sponsorships.

Vision and strategy
Office bathrooms 2.0
The first step of the “better bathroom movement” is broadening our distribution network. With our real-estate investors and partners, we are targeting commercial property owners/operators such as Tishman Speyer, Blackstone, Vornado and more. By entering through these channels we can scale with operators and integrate seamlessly with occupiers/tenants. We’re also aiming to grow within coworking and amenitized spaces, such as our contract with WeWork, and ultimately help us expand into new cities and markets.
We plan on increasing our product offerings and services as well. We’re aiming to build a robust client dashboard for consumption insights and data as well as a member's portal for women to earn points and product rewards. And finally, we’ll introduce The John – our men’s grooming and hygiene service that will complement The Lieu. Reinventing the office bathroom for all.
