Intellivision section from the article:
Evans said many game developers know that loot boxes can breed bad habits. “But they also know players will pay for the dopamine rush, the excitement, of loot boxes, which is the same thing that happens when you pull the lever on a slot machine.”
That may be changing. An Irvine company called Intellivision Entertainment is making a no-loot-boxes policy a key selling point for the family-friendly game console it plans to introduce next year.
Tommy Tallarico, the company’s chief executive, told me the console, dubbed Amico, will avoid “violent games, toxic online situations or any kind of loot boxes.”
“Our two biggest goals with our consumers are trust and value,” he said. “We personally feel that not having loot boxes stays within that ‘trust and value’ proposition.”
Evans said no-loot-boxes policies such as this are a positive change.

Below are just two of the many touching stories we received over the Christmas/Holiday season. These were both in reference to the original Intellivision IP/game Frog Bog (which we will be reimagining for Amico later this year!).
Dear Tommy & the Intellivision team,
I finally found a video game I can sit down and play with my 2 year old! The original Intellivision Frog Bog! It only has 1 button on easy mode which happens to be that big shiny disc which she obviously loves to press. We keep pet frogs in a terrarium at home, so we went back and forth between feeding the real frogs and then feeding the frogs on the game. Honestly, it was real fun to be able to play something with her that she could stay focused on.
I've been away rebuilding burnt down power lines in the Creek Fire for the past 3 months. It's such a nice welcome home present to spend quality time with the kids. Anyone here with kids should know, having a 2 year old actually play something with you for 10 minutes straight and not throw it across the room is a miracle. Adding in the educational value of feeding the real frogs in the mix was perfect. I never thought I'd say this before tonight, but now I'm most looking forward to the simple 1 button multiplayer games on Amico. Nothing like this exists on the Nintendo Switch. My older kids love the Switch, but my 2 year old only wants Intellivision. Frog Bog is about as simple as it gets, but it sure made my day and hers.

Dear Tommy,
You have found a gold mine of fun with a game that never gets old. My daughter is now 20, 3rd year away at college and to this day still challenges me to a "Frog Bog Championship of the World" everytime she's home for the holidays. We've been at this over 15 years, started at about age 4 for her. Best of three, and she almost ALWAYS wins!!
This year she drew me my Birthday card for my 51st (yesterday)... Here it is ... Lol. Frog Bog.
Hahahaha!
I still enjoy the fun of playing with her... it's years of laughter.
Same for Shark! Shark!... and don't forget Snafu. We play the "nibble the tail game". Triple Action Battle Tanks is a blast with little kids too, with all the bouncing balls flying all over the place.
Merry Christmas!

And finally...
Baby Yoda likes Frog Bog too! Must remind him of home? :)
Also, we wanted to let everyone know that we've extended our offering's deadline to April 15, 2021.
